東京辰巳国際水泳場

水面にはばたく
東京都の臨海地にある辰巳臨海公園の一角に位置している。国際的な水泳競技大会ができるとともに、一般都民のスポーツレクリエーションの場として計画されている。北側に運河の大きな水面があるため観客席を南側のみに設け、メインプールとダイビングプールの水面と運河の水面が連続するような空間構成がとられた。水面に羽ばたく水鳥をイメージした5枚のヴォールト状の屋根は立体トラスによって形作られている。全体的に平面的・立体的遊環構造が応用されながら周囲の環境と調和し、泳ぐ人、見る人にとってもやさしい環境となるよう意図されている。
A bird beating its wings on the water
Located in Tokyo's Tatsumi Seaside Park. The facility was planned for international swimming events as well as sports recreation of the citizens of Tokyo. The main diving and swimming pools were planned to be a continuation of the open tract of water located on the north side of building and have a consistent water level. Centrally located and at the focus of the five roof-shells designed as an impression of a bird beating its wings on the water. Harmonizing as a whole with the surrounding environment, the intention here was to create an environment which was both swimmer and spectator friendly.
