Nagasaki Science Museum

This is a science museum constructed in the "city of hills," Nagasaki. To make this facility into a symbol of the city that is easy for visitors to understand, while holding down the total architectural volume, the exhibition hall, planetarium, and observatory have all been composed with characteristically shaped external appearances and finishes. Overall, the facility portrays the city as a "city of ships." The exhibition hall has an interior that draws on the cityscape of Nagasaki, and this is divided into the six levels of a hina doll stage. The hall's recreational structure gives it a continuously changing space.
